MariastheWriter.com is looking for music-focused journalists to join the team as a writer / blogger to create breaking news content for the site. The ideal candidate is an excellent writer and reporter with their ear to the underground and commercial music industry’s emerging new artists. Our music bloggers help shape the voice and direction of what’s hot and new with intriguing stories, great music reviews of up and coming musicians of all genres, music releases, and concert/show recaps. You must have an interest in discovering new artists and an eagerness to learn more about the music industry. We’re looking for fearless writers and journalists who are interested in exploring the culture of music and emerging artists in all of its facets.
The most valuable qualities a candidate can bring to the table are: a strong literary voice, cutting edge reporting strategies, quick turnover, must be social media literate, and have an ability to consistently execute those ideas at a high level.
Required:
-2 to 5 submissions of editorial content per week
-Communicate with MariastheWriter.com lead editor via email about daily stories / new artists
-Always on the lookout for breaking new artists and trends
-Quickly analyze and report music related news and pop culture related info about independent or commercial artists
-Must have email for business communication and submitting stories
-Position is online only / accepting applicants from any location
-Position is unpaid but can be used for college credit
